At the press conference:
"I played a very good tournament," said Nadal. "I won against very good players. I played at my best level against Berdych, against Blake, against Mathieu. So for that reason I won against these top players. Today I didn't play my best. He played well and I lost."
Those were some of the comments Rafael Nadal made of his opponents performance, but when you reflect upon those last words, you realize that Nadal is not truly giving credit to his opponent and rather dismissing the whole affair as a case of, I did not play my best, Davydenko did, and I lost it! In other words, if I had played my best I would have beaten him.
For us learners of the game what is, The Truth?

ATTACK - "The Lion Effect" -
For Coaches, Players and Parents!
Recently Miguel Crespo kindly offered to help me with a very interesting E-Book Tennis Tips/Articles project, by sending an email to all tennis coaches in the ITF CSSR and TennisiCoach list. On the other hand he asked me to contribute with an article to TennisiCoach, of course I felt honoured to oblige but, at the same time was left wondering, what can I write about that has not been written already? This thought did not occupy my head for 2 seconds because, the answer popped up in a flash, write about something you are absolutely passionate about!

"Is Power in Tennis Everything?"
As a firm believer that inteligent play can beat muscle play, I tend to say no.
But, for about fifteen or twenty years everyone has been enveloped by this concept that power is everything. Fortunately for tennis John McEnroe, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer were born.
If these creative players did not develop, I could argue that tennis would have become a monotonous boring power game, lead by endless rallies with left and right running, in a mindless string of points, games, sets and matches.
Apart from this comment, the focus of this lesson is on hitting the ball early. So lets get to the task!
